Butler, who has played in Milwaukee before, seems to be frustrated with his role in Sacramento as he has been unable to get off the bench. The veteran could still provide some useful things, mainly shooting and leadership, in spot minutes. Milwaukee makes sense as they need both of those things on a sputtering, young team. With Miles Plumlee having reportedly been placed on the trading block, a straight swap may be in the works. The Los Angeles Clippers may also be a destination as they attempt to find a consistent small forward to join their strong core.
The Kings will likely look to add young players with some potential in a trade for Butler. They will not be able to get much but any asset is probably better than a veteran who is not getting any game minutes.
