After the Denver Nuggets traded JaVale McGee to the Philadephia 76ers, where he was waived, there has been a frenzy between playoff teams to sign him. Just last week, we were told that the Boston Celtics have officially signed JaVale, but that fell apart when contract negotiations didn’t go as planned. Now, JaVale McGee is without a home, with the final signing day approaching.
Now we hear reports that the Celtics, might still be in the running. We also hear reports that two teams who were said to be favored are now very unlikely destinations for JaVale: Golden State and Dallas.
According to Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News on the Mavericks:
“they are not OFFERING more than a minimum contract for the rest of this season.
Most likely, McGee will end up some place else. But the Mavericks are in the conversation.
The 7-foot shot-blocker is not completely ruled out in Boston”
Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News also said:

Other destinations have been named as well, such as Toronto, Cleveland, Los Angeles, and other playoff teams that are dying for some interior defense. Other the next couple weeks, JaVale SHOULD be signed.
