Report: Celtics Also Trying To Shop Jeff Green For First-Round Pick
Now the Boston Celtics seem serious about trading their All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo, and as speculated for some time, the Celtics are reportedly putting Jeff Green up for grabs as well.
According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Celtics are pursuing a specific deal in exchange for Green:
Boston has been consistently shopping forward Jeff Green, trying to acquire a package that includes a first-round draft pick, sources said.
Green is averaging just under 20 points per game as probably the best season of his career with the Celtics. He has one year and $9.4 million left on his contract, which includes a player option.
A first-rounder for Green might be a bit of a steep asking price for Celtics GM Danny Ainge. Green’s productive season might have him curious if there’s a team out there desperate enough to make such a deal and look to add a player of his talent to their roster. As of right now, Green and Rondo are formally on the trading block for Boston.
