Beno Udrih has been around the NBA for a while. He was drafted in 2004 by the Spurs and has been on 6 teams since being drafted by San Antonio. After bouncing around the league for a while, Udrih landed in southern Florida to play for the Miami Heat last year, but after a season ending injury, he barely played for them.
Now, according to reports, the unrestricted free agent has a standing offer from the Miami Heat if he wishes to return to the team. Udrih averaged 4.4 points, 2.5 assists, shooting 46% from the field for the Heat and if he doesn’t find a bigger contract anywhere else, he will have a veteran minimum deal with the Heat in place. According to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel:
First, the Heat might not necessarily stop at 18(players), with Beno Udrih essentially with a standing invitation at the veteran minimum if he cannot find more elsewhere.
Udrih would be another lefty european point gaurd on the team to add along side Goran Dragic. With the Heat roster growing before training camp, Erik Spolestra and staff will have a lot of choices to round out their 15 man roster.
