The list of roster cuts is a long one in Washington today. A team that was limited in cap space heading into this offseason now appears like it is ready to spend in free agency.
The #Redskins have now cleared $29.4M in 2016 cap space today, releasing RG3, Hatcher, Goldson, & Jeron Johnson. https://t.co/7CvLuQpUzj

RG3 is the headliner who cleared a majority of that cap space. Hatcher and Goldson are the other big names in the moves. Both players were starters on last year’s playoff team. Washington has also announced that they will not re-sign Terrence Knighton or Darrell Young. This makes you wonder how the skins will spend their cap space this offseason.
The team has made it known that they are trying to re-sign inside linebacker Mason Foster and backup quarterback Colt McCoy. It remains to be seen what the team has planned for DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon who could also be released this offseason.
