RECAP: Suns Wear Down Nets For 112-104 Win
The Phoenix Suns recovered from a 19-point deficit and rallied back to beat the Brooklyn Nets 112-104 at home on Wednesday night. Gerald Green led Phoenix with 28 points off the bench. Isaiah Thomas added 21 points off the bench for the Suns. Joe Johnson had a team-high 21 points for Brooklyn.
The Nets scored a season-high 63 first-half points on 70 percent shooting from the field. Phoenix struggled mightily in the first quarter but were still shooting under 40 percent after a 32-point second quarter. The Suns’ struggled most notably with turnovers (20) and finding the rhythm we’re accustomed to seeing in their offense. The combination of Green and Thomas’ scoring helped give Phoenix 61 total bench points to Brooklyn’s 11.
A scoring drought in the second half from the Nets gave way to the Suns’ constant energy and attack. Their 34-20 fourth quarter advantage wore down Brooklyn and challenged them to maintain their miraculous offensive efficiency. Brook Lopez and Mirza Teletovic added 16 points for the Nets. All five Nets starters scored in double figures.
Phoenix is now 5-3 and Brooklyn is 4-3 on the season.
