RECAP: Spurs Make Work Of The Warriors 113-100
The San Antonio Spurs are now 22-2 in their last 24 games against the Golden State Warriors after their 113-100 win in Golden State on Tuesday night. Tony Parker led the Spurs with 28 points and 7 assists. Klay Thompson had a team-high 29 points for the Warriors. Harrison Barnes added 22 points.
Stephen Curry finished with 16 points and 0-for-6 from the three-point line for Golden State.
A concern for the Warriors so far this season is their turnovers. They came into the game leading the league in the stat (22.5) and they showed more carelessness with the basketball by turning it over 20 times, which helped negate their 54 percent shooting from the field.
The Spurs closed the first half on a 16-6 run and came out with a 32-point third quarter effort, pushing them to their biggest lead of 14 at one point. That was followed by a 31-point output in the fourth quarter from the Spurs which held off the Warriors’ late runs. San Antonio’s bench outscored Golden State’s 40-9 and the Spurs had the edge on the offensive glass 8-1.
San Antonio moves to 4-3 and Golden State is 5-2.
