RECAP: San Antonio Takes 3-2 Series Lead With 109-103 Game 5 Win Over Dallas
The San Antonio Spurs had five players score in double figures and were able to out-execute the Dallas Mavericks for a 109-103 win in Game 4 to gain a 3-2 lead in the series. Tony Parker finished with a team-high 23 points including nine points in both the first and fourth quarter for the Spurs. Vince Carter had a team-high 28 points for the Mavericks.
In a game that only featured 13 total turnovers between the teams, it shows you the attention to detail offensively on both sides. San Antonio ultimately made more guys contribute steadily. Monta Ellis (21 points) and Dirk Nowitzki (26 points, 15 rebound) were formidable but didn’t have much help offensively besides Carter’s 28. The Spurs were +6 on assists and got 19 points from Manu Ginobili, 15 points from Kawhi Leonard, 16 points from Tim Duncan, and 17 points from Tiago Splitter. Duncan and Splitter combined for 10 offensive rebounds.
