Another night and some more highlight plays for Anthony Davis. “The Brow” took over against the Los Angeles Lakers to give them another digit in the loss column. New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 109-102.
Anthony Davis had 25 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocked shots to lead the Pelicans. Tyreke Evans had 19 points and 11 assists, Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday each added 17 points. Holiday added 5 assists while Anderson also had 8 rebounds coming off the bench. Omer Asik stood his ground inside with 7 points and 13 rebounds. Austin Rivers also contributed with 8 points.
Kobe Bryant scored 33 points on 10-of-28 shooting, one night after setting the NBA record for most missed field goals in a career, passing John Havlicek. Bryant also had 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Carlos Boozer had 16 points and Jeremy Lin 15 for the Lakers. Boozer had 6 rebounds while Lin contributed with 4 assists and 4 rebounds. Wesley Johnson and Jordan Hill had 10 points each, Hill added 8 rebounds to his total. All 5 Lakers starters scored in double-figures on the night.
The Lakers were as close as 63-60 on Lin’s jumper from about 4 feet behind the 3-point line in the middle of the third, but the Pelicans closed the period on a 22-12 run that included nine points from Holiday. The Pelicans never looked back from there, they lead by as many as 20 in the fourth quarter.
Lakers are 1-7, New Orleans Pelicans are 4-3.
