RECAP: Oklahoma City Goes Up 2-1 Against LA With 118-112 Win
The Oklahoma City Thunder shot above 55% from the field and won a shootout with the Los Angeles Clippers 118-112 in Game 3 on Friday night. Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 34 points on 14-for-24 shooting. Russell Westbrook added 23 points, 13 assists and 8 rebounds while Serge Ibaka contributed 20 points on 9-for-10 shooting for Oklahoma City.
This game had five technical fouls called, saw 13 ties and 19 lead changes, including 14 in the first half. Both teams had 60+ points at halftime. The Thunder gained their advantage from bench production. Their 34 bench points to the Clippers’ 28 was more about Reggie Jackson (14 points) and Caron Butler (14 points), who hit two timely three-pointers in the fourth quarter, taking on Jamal Crawford’s 20 bench points for Los Angeles. The Clippers shot poorly from three-point range (7-26) and lost their first game of this season in which they led going into the fourth quarter.
Blake Griffin had a team-high 34 points and 8 rebounds for the Clippers. Chris Paul finished with 21 points and 16 assists.
