RECAP: Oklahoma City Battles For 92-89 Game 4 OT Victory Against Memphis: Series Tied 2-2
In the third straight overtime meeting between these teams, the Oklahoma City Thunder had Reggie Jackson emerge for a playoff career-high 32 points in their 92-89 Game 4 overtime victory in Memphis on Saturday night. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined for 30 points and an inept 11-for-45 shooting from the field, but it was Jackson who compensated for the Thunder offense by attacking Memphis’ bigs aggressively off the dribble and in the pick-and-roll.
The Grizzlies succeeded in keeping the game low scoring, but their only quarter with at least 20 points came in the fourth (28) where they chipped away at a 64-52 deficit and gained a 74-73 lead with 3:54 left in regulation.
Mike Conley, Jr. (14 points, 10 assists) and Zach Randolph (11 points) struggled to find their offense for much of the game, leaving the scoring load to Marc Gasol who finished with a team-high 23 points and 11 rebounds for Memphis. The Grizzlies hurt themselves on the free throw line (13-23) and by not taking advantage of another high-turnover game from Oklahoma City (21).
Game 5 of this series will be in Oklahoma City on Tuesday at 9PM EST on NBA TV.
