Continuous struggles for the New York Knicks as they fall to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Minneapolis. New York seem to just be struggling early on in the season as they couldn’t stop a sick Kevin Martin from scoring a game high 37 for the Timberwolves as they defeated the Knicks 115-99 and it wasn’t even that close.
Kevin Martin shook off an illness to score 37 points with 4 rebounds to lead the T-Wolves. Shabazz Muhammad started at the power forward to help defend Carmelo Anthony and he scored 17 points with 8 rebounds. Mo Williams had 14 points with 13 assists starting at point guard. Rookie sensation Andrew Wiggins scored 12 points with 4 rebounds. Corey Brewer came off the bench to score 14 points.
Carmelo Anthony had 20 points with 4 rebounds and Amar’e Stoudemire added 19 points with 3 rebounds off the bench for the Knicks, but the two combined for just four points in the entire second half. The only other Knick in double figures was reserve center Jason Smith who had 14 points coming off the bench.
Anthony and Stoudemire combined to shoot 14 of 19 and the rest of the Knicks were just 20 for 50. New York’s 23 turnovers led to 28 points by Minnesota and are now 1-5 on the road to start the season.
New York Knicks are 3-10. Minnesota Timberwolves are 3-7.
