This was a blowout from the start where Memphis out scored Houston 34-18 at the end of the 1st quarter. Houston was on a back to back game, but that is no excuse for this performance! The Griz at one point had a 36 point lead in this game. The Rockets had 15 turnovers (Rockets finished with 21 TO’s) in the 1st half and the Grizzly Bears made them pay converting 22pts off those turnovers.
The Grizzlies had 14 steals to the Rockets 6 steals. Griz countered on the 16 steals for 26 fast break points. Griz kept running on every fast break and the Rockets just couldn’t get back on defense which resulted in easy layups and dunks on the other end.
The Rockets were building house from all the bricks they were throwing up from the 3pt line. Rockets went 8/34 from 3 for a horrible 24%. Which the old saying is you live and die by the 3 and tonight the Rockets died by the 3.
Mike Conley lead the way for the Griz with 19 points and 6 assists. Zach Randolph added 14pts and 7 rebounds and Marc Gasol added 9 points, 3 assists, and 6 rebounds. But the Griz starters didn’t even play in the 4th quarter because of the blowout. The final score 119 Griz and the Rockets 93
Harden had his worst game as a Rocket in 162 career games scoring just 6 points. Dwight added 15 points and 9 rebounds.
One thing is for sure, the Memphis Grizzlies are the best team in the NBA and move to 10-1 on the season.
