RECAP: Golden State Uses Late Free Throws To Grind Out 100-99 Win And Force Game 7
The Golden State Warriors outlasted the Los Angeles Clippers 100-99 and forced a deciding Game 7 in a game where both teams shot under 40% from the field. Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes both made free throws with under two minutes left to hold off a late Clippers run. Stephen Curry had a team-high 24 points and 9 assists for the Warriors. Jamal Crawford finished with a team-high 19 points for the Clippers.
There were 52 personal fouls called in this rugged Game 6. Blake Griffin, David Lee, and J.J. Redick all fouled out from the game. Golden State endured the right knee injury to Jermaine O’Neal in the second quarter and earned their advantage by getting 14 offensive rebounds in the first half, going +6 points in the third quarter when the Clippers went cold and got careless with the basketball, and getting spotty contributions from Andre Iguodala, (15 points) Marresse Speights (12 points) and Draymond Green (14 points, 14 rebounds).
Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan combined for 11-for-27 shooting and 26 points for the Clippers, neutralizing the advantage they’ve shown against the Warriors in this series. Chris Paul also finished with just 9 points on 3-for-10 from the field. Jamal Crawford and Darren Collison were the only members of the Clippers bench to score.
Saturday will feature the first day of three Game 7’s in NBA Playoffs history. This one will be at 10:30 PM EST on TNT.
