RECAP: Golden State Never Looks Back From Early Surge For 118-97 Win in Game 4; Series Tied 2-2
The Golden State Warriors benefited from an early surge from their best player, Stephen Curry, who scored 17 of his game-high 33 points in the opening quarter. Curry also finished with 7 rebounds and 7 assists. The Warriors’ 39-24 first quarter advantage proved too much for the Clippers to ever overcome. Andre Iguodala had 22 points and 9 assists for the Warriors, including 15 points from Klay Thompson, David Lee, and Harrison Barnes.
Unfortunately the overarching story of Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s alleged racist remarks is now attached to this series. Instead of assuming that it played an immediate part on the Clippers’ effort today, credit Mark Jackson and the Warriors for adjusting (starting small with Draymond Green instead of Jermaine O’Neal) and finally gaining their offensive rhythm that makes them the imminent threat we know them to be, which of course becomes much easier when Stephen Curry is playing as loose as he was to start the game.
Jamal Crawford finished with a team-high 26 points for the Clippers.
Game 5 of this series will be on Tuesday at 10:30 PM EST on TNT.
