The Jazz lost by 18, but it really was a ridiculous blowout by the Mavericks, the 18 point final spread was a lie to the eye of the casual fan.
Just look at how much of a laugh-er it was in the second quarter.
Well the @dallasmavs are crushing the @utahjazz by 30. And @swish41 is doing this on the jumbotron. pic.twitter.com/RHvqP2Bn31

DOWN 30 POINTS IN THE SECOND QUARTER! wow.
Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points in the Mavericks home opener as the Mavs celebrated the return of two major pieces from the 2011 championship team in a 120-102 victory over the Utah Jazz.
Tyson Chandler, the defensive stopper, leader and locker room glue when Dallas beat the Miami Heat for the title three years ago, had 13 points and 6 rebounds in his first home game since he left Dallas for New York in 2011. The recently re-acquired, former Mavs spark, J.J. Barea, had four points. The little guard got a standing ovation when he came off the bench late in the first quarter. Al-Farouq Aminu scored 16 and pulled down 10 rebounds. 7 Mavs scored in double figures.
Derrick Favors had 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Jazz. Gordon Hayward and Trey Burke scored 16 each for the Jazz. Burke had a game-high 7 assists. All five starters for Utah scored in double figures.
