RECAP: Clippers Make Final Push To Beat Pistons 104-98
The Los Angeles Clippers faced a strong effort but made a second half push that led them to a 104-98 win against the Detroit Pistons on the road on Wednesday night. Jamal Crawford had a team-high 25 points for the Clippers off the bench. D.J. Augustin led the Pistons with 19 points.
Detroit led 51-48 at halftime before Chris Paul erupted for 14 of his 23 points in the third quarter. The Clippers outscored the Pistons 56-47 in the second half. The Clipper bench, led by Jamal Crawford and supported by Jordan Farmar, Hedo Turkoglu, and Spencer Hawes, helped the Clippers make their final push in the fourth quarter to earn the lead they never lost for the rest of the game. Doc Rivers’ bench produced 45 total bench points.
Blake Griffin added 15 points and 7 rebounds for the Clippers. Josh Smith, Andre Drummond, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope each finished with 17 points for Detroit.
The Clippers move to 9-5 and the Pistons fall to 3-12 on the season.
