Monday at The Cavaliers shoot around LeBron James called himself out saying “he stunk” after a four game losing streak the team knew it was time to put a abysmal week behind them. The Cavs came out looking to end that streak and they did just that. The team has struggled to keep the ball movement consistently and tonight that was a non issue. Cleveland kept Orlando on their heels with the ball movement and found the open man that lead to 30 team assists.
LeBron James had 11 first half points and finished with 29 points while sitting the entire fourth quarter it’s safe to say James backed up his talk from the beginning of the game. Head Coach David Blatt said after the game “The things that he does and the way he plays the game and the impact he has on those around him is consequential in every respect. He can impact in every way. He did that and obviously everyone followed.”
The Cavaliers lead 56-38 at halftime and the trend continued in the second half even after Orlando’s Shooting Guard Victor Oladipo scored 8 straight points, but the big offensive quarter for Anderson Varejao put a stop to a The Magic’s comeback attempt with 10 points in the third quarter.
Oladipo ended his night with 22 points and Nikola Vucevic had 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Kyrie Irving would score 12 points along with Kevin Love’s 12 points Cleveland would win 106-74 with most of their starters sitting the fourth quarter.
LeBron James did back up his talk from shootaround, but the big test for Cleveland is Wednesday against Washington after being blownout by The Wizards last week you can’t help but think that Cleveland comes back swinging against John Wall and The Wizards.
Magic Return home Wednesday to play Golden State.
Cavaliers will continue a five-game homestand Wednesday against Washington.
