The Brooklyn Nets showed some life on Saturday night in Game 3 defeating The Miami Heat 104-90. Brooklyn played great team basketball and put on a clinic in the second half outscoring The Heat 53-41 in the second half. Joe Johnson lead The Nets in scoring with 19 PTS on 7 of 10 from the field, and Andray Blatche added 15 PTS and 10 REB. This is the first game Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Deron Williams have made an effect on the game for a combined 33 PTS. Brooklyn shot 60% from beyond the arc and making 15 3’s. Mirza Teletovic was a huge key to The Nets second half adding 12 PTS while going 4/7 on 3PTR’s.
The Heat were lead by LeBron James scoring 28 PTS 8 REB and 5 AST, but James disappeared in the second half along with Chris Bosh. Brooklyn played excellent team defense on James, and forcing Miami’s role players to step up. Unfortunately for Miami Wade was the only one who showed up scoring 20 PTS on 9/18 from the floor, but it wasn’t enough. Things got a little chippy between the two teams with Paul Pierce getting a flagrant call against him in the 1st half and in the second half Alan Anderson and Ray Allen getting tangled up. Although things died down as The Nets ran away with the lead, one thing is for sure Game 4 should be a physical game with Brooklyn down 2-1 this veteran team knows what’s at stake.
