We had our first big NBA docket of the season. There were 12 games on tonight and the Brooklyn Nets @ Boston Celtics seemed like a simple game where Boston fight for the win and Brooklyn pull out the W.
But that was not the case. It was totally not the case. Boston. Dominated from start to finish. Eight Celtics players were double digits in points. Only Brandon Bass and Tyler Zeller had less than 10 points.
It’s hard to pick player of the night considering Boston had the most balanced box score I’ve seen in a long time. If I had to pick. It would be Rajon Rondo.
Even though he was a game time decision. He had 0 rust and bossed the game. Marcus Smart can only wish he could end up that good. 13 points, 12 assists and 7 rebounds. Great game.
For Brooklyn. It’s clear. They suck without Brook Lopez. Even though they got good performances out of Joe Johnson, Mirza Teletovic and Deron Williams (Yes. Deron Williams had a good game!) they did not have any defensive presence. They need to get that sorted immediately because Boston ran roughshod on them. Nobody saw it coming. I don’t think Brad Stevens expected such a great offensive output from his guys.
