NBA Games From 11/22/14
The NBA on Saturday had 9 games on the list. Some matchups were very surprising, some were expected and one player had a career game that opened a bunch of eyes.
Phoenix Suns At Indiana Pacers. Suns win 106-83.
The injury bug continues to bite the Indiana Pacers, including last night. Pacers Center Roy Hibbert went down early in the first quarter as he rolled his ankle, left the game, tried to come back and played about 15 seconds before he had to leace the game again for good with an ankle sprain. Then, late in the fourth, the biggest Pacers free agent, Rodney Stuckey, also got injured as he tripped over a cameraman and try to brace himself for a fall, but he ended up hurting his wrist on the way down.
As far as the game went, 4 members of the Suns scored in double figures including, Gerald Green with 23 points, Isaiah Thomas with 16, Markieff Morris with 13, Goran Dragic with 11 and Anthony Tolliver with 11. All in total, 13 members of the Suns played in the game, and 10 of the 13 were positive in the +/-.
For the Pacers, Solomon Hill had 13 points, Ian Mahinmi had 12 points off the bench and Rodney Stuckey had 14 before leaving the game with an injury. Every member of the Pacers that played, all 11, were negtive in the +/-. Not a good game for Indiana.

Miami Heat at Orlando Magic. Heat win 99-92.
Dwyane Wade missed his fifth consecutive game for Miami. Chris Bosh scored 14 of his season-high 32 points in the fourth and Miami beat their intrastate rivals, Orlando, for the 10th consecutive time. Bosh also had 10 rebounds for the game. Mario Chalmers contributed a season-high 24 points and 8 assists for the Heat, who shot 52 % overall. Rookie Shabazz Napier added 12 points for Miami in 28 minutes off the bench.
Nikola Vucevic led Orlando with 33 points and 17 rebounds which lead to a 44-33 rebounding advantage for the Magic. Victor Oladipo scored 14 points for the Magic, and rookie Elfrid Payton came off the bench with 9 points, 4 assists and 5 steals.
This matchup was the 100th regular-season meeting of Florida’s lone NBA teams. The Heat have won 56 of those matchups.
Miami Heat are 6-7. Orlando Magic are 7-8.

Toronto Raptors at Cleveland Cavaliers. Raptors beat Cavs 110-93.
The Raptors trailed 26-8 early in the game, less than 4 minutes into the game. Then Toronto turned it on and showed why they have the best record in the Eastern Conference.
Louis Williams scored a career-high 36 points with 4 rebounds for Toronto, which has won four in a row and is off to its best start in franchise history. Kyle Lowry scored 23 points with 8 assists while DeMar DeRozan added 20 points with 5 rebounds for Toronto.
Kevin Love scored 23 points with 7 rebounds and Kyrie Irving had 21 with 6 assists to lead Cleveland. Anderson Varejao had 13 points with 12 rebounds and Tristan Thompson came off the bench to get 11 points and 7 rebounds. LeBron James, who spent the final 6 minutes on the bench, finished with 15 points, 10 assists and just 1 rebound.
Toronto Raptors are 11-2. Cleveland Cavaliers are 5-7.

Philadelphia 76ers at New York Knicks. Knicks defeat Sixers 91-83.
Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points with 7 rebounds and Amare Stoudemire added 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Knicks. Quincy Acy also had 10 points for New York.
The still winless Sixers struggled to get anything going. The only bright spot for the Sixers was young star Nerlens Noel who had the best night of his young career with season highs of 17 points and 12 rebounds. Robert Covington added 14 points and 4 rebounds off the bench. Hollis Thompson had 10 points with 5 rebounds for Philly.
Philadelphia 76ers are 0-13. New York Knicks are 4-10.

Dallas Mavericks at Houston Rockets. Rockets defeat Mavericks 95-92.
Houston was without starting power forward Terrence Jones and starting center Dwight Howard but that didn’t stop them from beating their instate rival, Dallas Mavericks.
James Harden scored 32 points, including 5 down the stretch, to help the Houston Rockets win. Patrick Beverly had a season high 20 points, including a career high 6 made three pointers. Donatas Motiejunas started to help sure up the front line for Houston and contributed 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Monta Ellis led the Mavericks with 17 points and 6 rebound. Brandan Wright had 14 points and 11 rebounds coming off the bench for Dallas. Tyson Chandler had 13 points and 13 rebounds while his front court partner, Dirk Nowitzki, had only 11 points with 7 rebounds. Jameer Nelson also had 11 with 6 assists.
Dallas Mavericks are 10-4. Houston Rockets are 10-3.

Sacramento Kings at Minnesota Timberwolves. Kings defeat Twolves 113-101.
Early MVP candidate, DeMarcus Cousins, had 31 points and 18 rebounds to power the Sacramento Kings. Ben McLemore had 22 points and 9 rebounds, his partner in the back court, Darren Collison, had 19 points with 7 assists. Rudy Gay had 14 points with 6 rebounds and Derrick Williams came off the bench to score 12 points and grab 6 rebounds.
The Wolves were without 4 regular starters, but that didn’t stop the fifth regular starter, Andrew Wiggins, from having a career game. The first overall pick, rookie phenom had 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals to lead the wolves. The 4 new wolves starters for this game joined Wiggins and all scored in double figures. Corey Brewer had 14 points with 4 assists, Gorgui Dieng scored 12 points with 10 rebounds, Mo Williams had 11 points and 12 assists and last year’s number one overall pick, Anthony Bennett, had 10 points with 6 rebounds. Chase Budinger came off the bench and scored 11.
Sacramento Kings are 8-5. Minnesota Timberwolves are 3-9.

Washington Wizards at Milwaukee Bucks. Wizards beat Bucks 111-100.
Paul Pierce led the Wizards with 25 points with 10 rebounds, as well as hitting several clutch shots to seal the Wiz victory, and John Wall added 19 points and 9 assists. In his second game back, Bradley Beal scored 17 points with 6 assists coming off the bench. Kris Humphries also came off the bench and scored 12 points with 9 rebounds. Marcin Gortat had 10 points with 13 rebounds for the Wizards.
Brandon Knight continues his all-star campaign putting up 27 points and 6 assists. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 20 points, 5 assists and they were the only 2 Bucks starters to score in double figures. Ersan Ilyasova had 13 points and 5 rebounds off the bench and O.J. Mayo had 10 off the bench as well.
Washington Wizards are 9-3. Milwaukee Bucks are 7-7.

Brooklyn Nets at San Antonio Spurs. Spurs defeat Nets 99-87.
Tony Parker had 22 points with 7 assists and Tim Duncan nearly had a triple double in limited minutes with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Kawhi Leonard had 21 points and 9 rebounds And Boris Diaw contributed 10 points. Aron Baynes had 10 points with 8 rebounds off the bench and Danny Green joined him off the bench with 21 points and 7 rebounds.
San Antonio never trailed in their victory over the Brooklyn Nets.
Brooklyn is still struggling early on in the season. Deron Williams led the Nets with 24 points and 7 assists and was one of 3 Nets in double figures. Mirza Teletovic had 22 points and 8 rebounds and Joe Johnson had 12 points.
Brooklyn Nets are 5-8. San Antonio Spurs are 9-4.

New Orleans Pelicans at Utah Jazz. Pelicans beat Jazz 106-94.
Anthony Davis stole the show against the Jazz. The early MVP candidate had a career game with 43 points, 14 rebounds, 2 steals and a block against Utah. The only other Pelican to score in double figures was Jrue Holiday who had 19 points with 9 assists.
Davis was 16-23 from the field, 11-12 from the free throw line and got anything he wanted. The Jazz tried to double him, play him hard and even foul him, but he kept producing.
The Jazz had a big scoring effort themselves with Gordon Hayward, who scored 31 points and 8 rebounds for Utah. Trey Burke had 20 points, Derrick Favors had the task of guarding Davis and got cooked. He only had 13 points but grabbed 11 rebounds. Trevor Booker came off the bench to contribute 10 points.
Saturday was Davis’ night though.
New Orleans Pelicans are 7-5. Utah Jazz are 5-9.
