Hope everyone had a nice, calm Sunday. A few NBA fans didn’t. And with all this jibber jabber about this Odell Beckham kid, I am here to catch you up on all the games that transpired in the Association. We begin in South Beach where we had a frantic ending.
Chris Bosh Pots Game Winner Against Struggling Charlotte. 94-93 Final Score
This could’ve gone either way. Dwyane Wade missed his 6th game, still rehabilitating the hamstring. But never fear HeatNation! Chris Bosh is here to save the day. Bosh knocked back a baseline fade away. Charlotte had the chance to get the W though. Kemba tried to win it once again, couldn’t get it. Al Jefferson had a chance for a tip in. No dice. Miami are 8-6 holding onto their injury ridden squad. Most recently Chris Anderson who had to leave this game due to an ankle sprain. As for Charlotte. They’re 4-10. Despite having a good squad on paper. They are struggling as if they are still named the Bobcats.
Marc Gasol Goes Off Once Again. Clippers Get Beat Comfortably 107-91
What can I say about Marc Gasol. I’ll say this. I think he’s finally better than his brother. Some of you might have said that when he won Defensive Player of the Year a couple seasons ago. But I thought it was the Lakers fault that Pau didn’t flourish. I was wrong. Marc Gasol is a tank. 30 points and 12 rebounds in this game. The Clippers didn’t know whether to focus on Randolph or Gasol. They went for Randolph, leaving Gasol to knock down all the midrange jumpers he liked. Grizzlies are now 12-2 and look very comfortable on top of the West.
Blazers Win Seventh Straight Game, Beating Boston 94-88
Want another team that’s on a roll? Here’s some Portland for you! Despite several minor injuries throughout their seven game win streak. They keep on getting it done with solid D and picture perfect offense. Watching them on offense is beautiful. Everybody gets in on the action. Only starter that didn’t get double digits in points was Robin Lopez, he got 9. LaMarcus Aldridge lead the team in points and rebounds getting 20 and 14. But don’t sleep on Boston. They fight in all their games. The partnership that Rondo and Jeff Green have at the moment is seamless and great to watch. They may be 4-8, but it’s a good 4-8.
Warriors Continue To Dominate, Smacking OKC 91-86
I think the Warriors are the best team in the NBA at the moment. Despite Memphis, despite Toronto. I’m loving the Golden State Warriors at the moment. And my predictions are looking good. But my pick for MVP Steph Curry. He wasn’t the player of the game last night. Neither was Klay Thompson. Enter Marreese Speights! 28 points for the veteran. OKC were clearly gobsmacked that Speights was the man of the night. With Andrew Bogut only playing 8 minutes. It was up to Marreese Speights and he stepped up big time. I got the Warriors going to the Finals and despite Bogut only playing 8 minutes. I’m really happy with how this team is playing.
Denver Nuggets Beat The Lakers In OT. 101-94
Well who knew this game was going to go to overtime?! I’m joking. Considering that Denver are only 1 game under .500, the “Fire Shaw” stuff from last week was totally overblown. But it doesn’t mean all their problems are sorted. They’re far from perfect. And the Lakers. Well. Perfect is actually winning a game. They’re now 3-11 which is tragic. Kobe Bryant ended 10 for 24 shooting. Unacceptable. Byron Scott needs to take some control on that front. I know the Lakers squad is mediocre but surely somebody on that Team can hit a jumpshot now and again.
I’m beginning to think this season is just for Kobe to chase Jordan in the All-Time scorers list.
