The 2019 Hall of Fame class was announced way back in the winter when the baseball world found out Mariano Rivera would become the first player to be unanimously inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Joining Rivera from the BBWAA vote would be Edgar Martinez, Mike Mussina, and Roy Halladay.
Today, as they have many times in the past, the Hall of Fame Class of 2019 made history. #HOFWKND ?: Milo Stewart Jr. https://t.co/ZQGgkZ6YXf pic.twitter.com/IYPXU6axWv

Plenty of former players attended the ceremony such as the members of the “core four” Andy Pettitte, Derek Jeter, and Jorge Posada from the former Yankees teams. Being par for the course, Rivera closed out the ceremony with his speech, talking about plenty of things including being unanimously voted in which was followed by a standing ovation.
Perhaps the most touching part of the entire ceremony was the late Roy Halladay’s wife Brandi Halladay, who delivered an emotional speech on behalf of Halladay as well as rest of the Halladay family. The speech was very emotional as the loss of Halladay shocked many when the news broke originally, this honor was a great addition to the list of already incredible accolades Halladay achieve during his time in the MLB.
All of the inductees gave their speeches including Harold Baines and Lee Smith who were also inducted and part of the 2019 Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Yankees fans were in heavy numbers as Rivera was inducted and it certainly seems that this will be the case next year when Jeter almost inevitably gets elected.
