Kevin Love returned to Minnesota on Saturday with his new team the Cleveland Cavaliers. Prior to the game, the Minnesota Timberwolves made a hilarious video about Mike Miller’s returning to Minnesota, basically mocking Kevin Love’s return.
You can tell that Minnesota was basically looking for Kevin Love’s return all season. As he arrived and was introduced by the PA announcer, Kevin Love was booed by all fans in the Target Center.
There were some fans that still supported Kevin Love, but at the end of the day everytime he touched the ball he got booed.
According to ESPN Kevin Love didn’t feel to hurt after the game:
“It all went pretty well, and we ended up getting a win,” Love said. “Like I said earlier before the game, that’s what we came here to do. We walked away with 10 straight.”
Even Kevin Love’s former coach Flip Saunders even put in his 2 cents about why he doesn’t like the acts by Timerwolves fans saying:
“Would San Antonio do that? No. They wouldn’t do that,” Saunders said. “Our players didn’t like it. They have to play against [Love], too. They didn’t like it. It just doesn’t send the right message. … So, was it funny? Maybe people thought it was funny.
“For me it wasn’t great having to deal for three or four hours the last two days having people call me and talk about it as I’m trying to prepare for games. Maybe you think it’s OK. That’s up to you. But I don’t look at it that way — as someone who is running an organization and has to go out and has to recruit players and has to do those things to get those players.
“[Love] might have thought it was funny. But I know, deep down in his heart, no one would like that. It’s human nature.”
Obviously Flip was not happy. Well now that that is out of the way, the Cavaliers have now won 10 games in a row. I think Kevin Love likes his new home better.
