Raymond Felton knows that his NBA career is long gone, and that he is essentially in the league to get pay cheques from any team that’s willing to give him a shot. He wants his money from the Mavericks. Which means the Dallas Mavericks will have to pay him up $3.9 million next year.
According to Shams Carnia of Real GM:

Realistically that’s his only real option, no other team would probably interested in him with his list of injuries, you’ll be lucky to get a couple of games out of him. Felton had his peak years as a New York Knick, but fell off shortly after that, with injuries. The Dallas Mavericks will have to pay up, and Raymond Felton, in the wise words of Michael Jackson ‘don’t stop till you get enough’.
