Ray Allen, like most of our grandparents, is living the life down in South Florida not working and just relaxing.
The NBA’s all time leader in three pointers hasn’t officially retired yet though, and could still be waiting to sign with a contender towards the end of the season.
As the Washington Wizards are chasing to be atop the Eastern Conference, CSN Washington’s J. Michael says Allen to Washington “Isn’t out of the picture.”
“Until Allen says, ‘I’m retired’ or ‘No, thanks,’ the Wizards will continue to chase him,” Michael writes. “The reason: Even though they have shooters in Martell Webster and Rasual Butler coming off the bench, they’re natural small forwards. Allen is a natural to back up Beal.”
If Allen does decide to sign with Washington, it would reunite him with Paul Pierce. The duo of Pierce and Allen, along with Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo, made two finals appearances and won a championship together in 2008 while playing for the Celtics.
