Former NBA stars Rasheed Wallace and Stephen Jackson were part of a group that delivered water to the people of Flint, Michigan, who are still without clean drinking water. ESPN’s Rachel Nichols recorded this video of the event and posted it to her Facebook page.
Wallace played six seasons with the Detroit Pistons and won a championship in 2004. Jackson describes Wallace as one of his “idols” in the video, as you can see them along with others unloading carts of water from trucks and hand-delivering them to people’s front doors. Wallace speaks in the video, as only he could, about why he feels the need to make the effort and support the Flint community. His intention is simple: to help his fellow man.
This isn’t Wallace’s first time going to Flint, either. He drove a truck filled with cases of water from North Carolina to Flint back in Februrary.
