The Toronto Raptors hosted the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night without Serge Ibaka. Ibaka, according to the Raptors, was busy serving a one-game suspension following an altercation between the 6’10 forward and a team staff member.
Little to no details were released about the nature of the incident.
According to USA Today, the incident occurred after Toronto’s Wednesday road loss to the Thunder.

Coach Dwane Casey would not divulge details of the incident, which happened after Wednesday’s loss at Oklahoma City, but said Ibaka and the staffer have apologized to one another. Casey said the situation was “resolved.”
“It went over the limit, and we’ve handled it,” Casey said.
Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri commented via an official team press release.
“Both parties have apologized. We’ve discussed this internally as a team, and we won’t be discussing it any further,” Raptors president Masai Ujiri said. “Now we’re focused on moving forward together, and we look forward to having Serge back in the lineup.
The suspension will set Ibaka back a reported $139,000.
Casey inserted bench sniper CJ Miles into the starting lineup in Ibaka’s stead Friday evening. The 28-year-old will be available Monday against the Bucks.
