
As quiet as it’s been kept, Rapsody has slowly been earning her just due in the world of music this year. After dropping an incredible album in 2017 that received critical acclaim, Rapsody has been making waves in 2018. The North Carolina native kicked off the year with two Grammy nominations for her work on her most recent album. Since then, the 9th Wonder collaborator has made the rounds by working with T.I., Jorja Smith, H.E.R and Black Thought to name a few. Tonight, the Grammy nominated rapper added another name to the list of people she’s worked with this year.
On short notice, the North Carolina native turned up in the studio with Fayetteville native, J. Cole, to produce their new track, “Sojurner”. On the record, Rapsody discusses topics of struggle and self liberation within the Black community. Rapsody handles the verses while name dropping the likes of Aaliyah, Meek Mill, Birdman and many more. In the background, the KOD rapper handles the chorus.
The track serves as the first offering from Rapsody’s upcoming album, Jamla Is The Squad II. The new project will be released on November 9th, so stay tuned for tracklists, features and more. In the meantime, check out the North Carolina connection above.
