2019 has marked the resurgence of North Carolina’s hip-hop scene. For years, the state’s mantle was carried by the success of producers like 9th Wonder, groups like Little Brother and solo acts like Petey Pablo. This year, the state has propelled the success of a number of rising acts like Lute, DaBaby, Stunna 4 Vegas and many more. Not to mention, Little Brother returned with a surprise album during the third quarter. With all of that going on, two artists continued to take North Carolina into new spaces. J. Cole held down the 2019 NBA All-Star in Charlotte with a halftime performance. Meanwhile, Rapsody continued her success with the release of her latest studio album, Eve.
Tonight, Rapsody continued her run with a performance at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards. The North Carolina native performed “Nina” and “Serena” off of Eve. This marked her debut as a solo performer at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
After touching the stage at the BET Hip Hop Awards, Rapsody continued her run with Big K.R.I.T on the From South With Love tour. The duo will be making stops in Sacramento, San Francisco and Portland this week. Check out the full performance above.
