Even with all of the scrutiny about if he is capable of leading the Wizards to the next level, Randy Wittman made NBA history as the Wizards beat Toronto on the road on Saturday. Wittman became the first coach ever to win 6 of his first 7 road playoff games.
Winning games on the road are tough and are even tougher once playoff time rolls in and the arenas are packed, so this has to be something Wittman can be proud of. He must be doing something to get his teams angry against the fans rooting against Washington. Whatever he is doing is working, and he should keep it up.
When the Wizards and Raptors face off in Game 2 on Tuesday, Wittman could extend this record to winning 7 of his first 8 road playoff games. If Wittman does lose his job in the offseason like make are speculating, the team should maybe ask him to only come and coach playoff games taking place away from Verizon Center.
