Yes, you read the headline right. Sylvester Stallone has been given the green light to write and star in ‘Rambo 5’.
Splendid Film bought the rights to the sequel and announced the film in a statement on their website.
“With Rambo V, Sylvester Stallone returns in his iconic role. This time, he goes up against a Mexican cartel,” said the studio. “Stallone, who has also written the screenplay, describes the new Rambo as his version of No Country for Old Men”.
The ‘Rambo’ franchise has found much success over the years. The four films have grossed $727 million worldwide.
Stallone can next be seen in ‘The Expendables 3’ which makes its way to theaters on August 15.
‘Rambo 5’ is expected to arrive in theaters in 2015.
