After suffering a facial injury due to a freak accident in which a teammate’s knee hit Dallas Mavericks point guard Rajon Rondo in the face during a recent game, it looks like Rondo will be out for at least the next 2 Mavericks games. Maybe more.

Following from Mavs insider, Earl K. Sneed sent over the social media app, Cyberdust.
Per Mavs PR, Radjon Rondo Suffered an orbital fracture to his left eye and a nasal fracture. His Status will be updated later this week. Rondo will not travel with the Mavs this week to Golden State and Sacramento while undergoing additional testing and evaluation.
Rondo averages 8.7 points per game, 8.7 assists per game with 6.3 rebounds per game this season for the Boston Celtics and Mavericks.
Horrible news for the Mavs. Immediately looking at the roster, Devin Harris will most likely be implemented in the lineup for the time being at the starting point guard position with his back up being J.J. Barea. This immediately shortens the rotation for the Mavs back court.
Hopefully for the Mavs, Rondo won’t be out for too long considering the lack of depth that Mavs already have, especially in the front court that they coincidentally gave up in the trade to acquire him.
Hoping for a speedy recovery from Rajon.
