In the past week, the Chicago Bulls and head coach Fred Hoiberg have decided to start Michael Carter-Williams over Rajon Rondo. The decision was made, after the Bulls Dec. 30 loss to the Indiana Pacers, that saw Rondo get benched for the entire second half. Since his second half benching, Rondo has added up two DNP’s and his role with the Bulls has been up in the air.
However, Rondo and Chicago Bulls executives Gar Forman and John Paxson met Saturday in order to discuss his role. Rondo discussed his meeting, according to Nick Friedell of ESPN, prior to tonight’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“It went OK,” Rondo told ESPN.com. “It really wasn’t a clear-cut message [from Forman and Paxson]. We’ll talk again.”
Rondo has since stayed quiet and has restrained himself from publicly showing his displeasure with the route the Bulls have gone. With two DNP’s and a meeting that seemingly didn’t amount to much, the Rajon Rondo dilemma shows no signs of going away anytime soon. Chicago is currently sitting at a record of 17-18 and put together a woeful 7-11 record in December. Now a part of the crowded middle-class of the Eastern conference, the Bulls needed to try and make a change in order to improve. Let’s continue to watch as the Bulls try and climb their way back up the Eastern conference and how they treat this Rajon Rondo situation moving forward.
