It is well known that the 49ers organization and coach Jim Harbaugh haven’t been coexisting for quite sometime. And with the possibility of the Niners not making the postseason, it’s unlikely that Harbaugh will return. At this point, anything short of the Super Bowl and they’ll tell him to kick rocks. Speculation of a trade came about last February with the Cleveland Browns, as they were ready to trade for draft picks before everything ultimately fell through.
Well it seems like history is repeating itself as Adam Schefter tweets, “One NFL source convinced Raiders are the favorite to trade for HC Jim Harbaugh, but Jets also known to be keeping a close eye on situation.”
The Raiders owner Mark Davis has been looking for a “superstar” coach prior to firing Dennis Allen. I mean, we all knew Allen wasn’t lasting long with the talent available, and he was simply a lame duck.
Then there’s the lowly Jets. Rex Ryan is already showcasing for a defensive coordinator job at this point, although it wouldn’t be unrealistic for him to land a head coaching job somewhere in the league.
Between the two teams, the Raiders seemingly have more cash and better draft picks for Harbaugh to work with. Both organizations are career-killers, however, Oakland is definitely the lesser of two evils. At least they have the quarterback situation figured out with Derek Carr.
