ABC’s biggest reality The Bachelor makes its own history. Mega franchise The Bachelor and its spinoff The Bachelorette will announce tonight February 13th on Jimmy Kimmel Live that the show has cast its first African-American lead. It was teased just about a year ago but now the plans are coming to life.
Rachel Lindsay, a 31-year-old Texas Attorney who is currently competing on this season of The Bachelor, has been cast to be the lead of the newest season of The Bachelorette. Rachel Lindsay is the first African-American star of any Bachelor or Bachelorette season, after 33 combined seasons for the reality franchise.
With the historic news breaking, it means that Rachel isn’t the winner of this season’s bachelor. We all can suspect that she will not be chosen and forced to go home on tonight’s episode of The Bachelor.
Bachelor fans might be sad that Rachel isn’t the current winner because she was a fan favorite from episode one. Fans should, however, be extremely happy that she is making history and will for sure be the winner of the bachelorette.
Creator of The Bachelor Mike Fleiss tweeted out that Jimmy Kimmel will make the announcement.
We've decided to let our friend @jimmykimmel make the historic announcement during tomorrow night's show. #thebachelor
