HBO Max has given a put pilot commitment to a Quinta Brunson led comedy series. Brunson is currently working on the half hour comedy project with Michelle Nader of 2 Broke Girls and The King of Queens.
The series is untitled, but there are brief descriptions of what it will be about. As reported by Variety, the series is “about ambitious millennial flying up the ladder at a media startup company who is unexpectedly tasked with running the newly hired, PR crisis–averting team of diverse writers made up of green Internet newbies.”
This is the second major project Brunson has helped put together. Last year, she worked with Jermaine Fowler and Larry Wilmore on Quinta & Brunson for CBS. Unfortunately, the series never made it to air.
She also recently appeared on HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show. Brunson is also well known for work on BuzzFeed and the digital short, The Girl Who Has Never Been on a Nice Date.
There is no set release date or further casting details regarding the series available yet.
