NBC has found its Wiz and Wicked Witch of the West for its upcoming live musical.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Queen Latifah will play the titular character in The Wiz while Mary J Blige will appear as Evillene.
The duo will star alongside Stephanie Mills, who will play Dorothy Gale’s Aunt Em, meanwhile Dorthy has yet to be cast.
The Wiz is an adaptation of L Frank Baum’s Wonderful Wizard of Oz, which made its Broadway debut in 1975.
A feature film which starred Diana Ross, Michael Jackson and Richard Pryor was released in 1978.
NBC’s version of The Wiz is scheduled to premiere on December 3.
