For the sake of humanity I hope you guys know who Ted Smooth is. Well by any chance if you don’t he is considered by many to be the “Remix King”. There hasn’t been a Ted Smooth remix that I thought was unnecessary plus when you listen to his remixes you have no choice but to wonder what was going through his mind that he heard the potential in a record to go ahead and alter the beat, add a new sound to it or even get a new verse from another artist to add to it.
This takes a certain level of talent to do so.
The last we heard from Ted Smooth he gave Jidenna’s hit record ” the remix treatment and even got two legends in Jadakiss and Brucie B on it. Now if that doesn’t speak volumes of his work I don’t know what will. Today we have a new one and the lucky song is Puff Daddy & The Family’s ‘Finna Get Loose‘ produced by Pharrell. This particular remix does something different than previous ones, the uptempo, ‘Get Light’/’Harlem Shake’ sound is stripped but keeping it nostalgic Ted takes us back and made this into what is being called Saturdays, a roller skating tune in a sense.
