Today, during a press conference at GamesCom in Germany, Sony announced that the PS4 will be released on November 15th, 2013 in North America. November 29th is the release date for the console in Europe. The release date for the Xbox One is rumored to also be in November but an official date has yet to be released by Microsoft. From a marketing standpoint, it’s extremely beneficial to a product to be the first to the market, so it will be interesting to see if Microsoft moves up its release date ahead of the Sony PS4 or not.
