Former Vice President Joe Biden has completed a clean sweep of the DMV area. Previously, Def Pen reported that the former Vice President was projected to win the state of Virginia and the District of Columbia. Now, he can also claim the state of Maryland.
Biden’s victories in these areas come as no surprise. In 2012, his running mate, Barack Obama, won these areas en route to his re-election. However, the 2016 election proved that little is impossible.
Having taken over the Democratic stronghold, Biden will now take his talents to Georgia and Florida. He is currently engaged in a tight race with President Donald Trump. Separated by just thousands of votes, it is still unclear who will take those two swing states.
If Biden is able to take home those states, experts believe the election will be well within Biden’s reach. The night is still young and results are still rolling in.
