Pennsylvania was the center of the political sphere on Monday. Former Vice President Joe Biden held an evening rally with pop superstar Lady Gaga.
“This is a big one, Pennsylvania. So if you’re here, you probably already believe in Joe Biden. I know I believe in Joe Biden,” she said.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump was utilizing his time at the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Airport to take shots at four-time NBA Champion LeBron James. Trump said that he felt bad for James because NBA rating went down by “71%” this year because of the league’s stance against police brutality.
“When they don’t respect our flag, when they don’t respect our country, nobody wants to watch,” Trump said.
As the rally went on, he encouraged the crowd the shout obscenities towards the NBA Finals MVP.
“LeBron James sucks! LeBron James suck,” the crowd chanted.

James and Trump are not friends by any stretch of the imagination. However, Trump’s claims about the league’s television viewership are not supported by reality. League ratings were down by 37% during the postseason and 48% during the 2020 NBA Finals. With that said, many sports leagues are seeing a dip in viewership during the unpredictable year that is 2020. Sunday Night Football viewership is down by 14% while college football is experiencing a similar decline.
While the attack on James and the NBA was public, don’t expect a public response. As former Miami Heat Assistant Coach David Fizdale points out, James doesn’t care anymore about outside opinions.
“The biggest thing he learned in Miami is he learned to stop giving a f*ck,” Fizdale said during an episode of Showtime’s All The Smoke.
“That’s hard to do when so many people are talking about you.”
