All good things must come to an end. For the last five years, Power has made us laugh, cry, cringe and yell at our TV screens. Along the ride, we’ve seen the rise and fall of some of our favorite characters such as Kanan, Shawn, Lobos and many more. Not to mention, we’ve seen the progression of some of our least favorite characters such as Angela, Tasha and Ghost. While it’s been fun for all those who have survived the first five season, the show has announced that it will conclude the series with a sixth and final season this fall.
Earlier today, 50 Cent took to Instagram to announce that the show’s final season will debut on August 25th. The Starz producer and actor also added that this season would be fifteen episodes as opposed to the standard ten to twelve episode run that most shows get. The show’s final season will bring back all of our favorites such as Omari Hardwick, Joseph Sikora, Naturi Noughton and many more. As expected, the show’s producers have not yet announced whether or not Angela will return for the show’s final season. Only time will tell.
After announcing the show’s final season, 50 Cent and Courtney Kemp shared their thoughts about the show’s future. Kemp said, “We will follow some of your beloved Power characters beyond the scope of the initial series.” Kemp added, “But we will play with your expectations of which characters, where, and the master timeline of it all, creating a Power universe as unpredictable as the original.” 50 Cent noted, “The last 5 seasons of Power have been an incredible ride for me and all of our supportive fans.”
Stay tuned for more details and trailers to come this summer.
