Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s Power universe continues to expand. On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Starz shared plans to develop Power: Origins, an original series pre-dating the parent series starring Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora. Described as a “fun, rambunctious exploration of a new time period in the Power franchise,” Power: Origins will take a closer look at the rise of Jamie “Ghost” St. Patrick and Tommy Egan.
Power: Origins will bring two fan favorites from the universe’s hit spin-off series, Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Mekai Curtis will reprise his role as Kanan Stark while Sascha Penn continues to work as the showrunner.
“I’m excited to continue to explore the origin stories of the Power universe’s founding fathers,” Penn said. “Ghost and Tommy’s backstories have fueled years of constant fascination and speculation among fans, and I’m thrilled to be able to answer some long-held questions and share new layers of the story that viewers won’t see coming.”
Starz has not made any announcements regarding two of the show’s most important characters, Ghost and Tommy. Instead, Jackson and company are looking to keep under wraps as they search for the adolescent counterparts of these “iconic characters.”
“Our fans have been asking for Ghost and Tommy’s origins story since we first met them in ‘Power’ — and with the launch of this series, we’re delivering in a big way,” Kathryn Busby of Starz said. “This marks an electrifying new chapter in the franchise’s evolution as we dive deep into the legacy of these iconic characters and the explosive moments that shaped their path.”
Starz will set the stage for Power: Origins with the fifth and final season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, which is expected to launch in 2026.
