When Wesley Matthews went down with his achilles injury, the entire Blazers nation had a horrific hush fall over them. The best perimeter defender Portland has, went crumbling down to the ground and everyone immediately thought, this is an achilles injury.
After Matthews had successful surgery recently, the Blazers just so happened to be on television the same night as Matthews began his recovery from surgery facing off and defeating the Houston Rockets at home.
He sent out this image to everyone on his instagram account. In full uniform, as his teammates were at the same time.
It just so happened, unknown to Wesley, that his teammates took the floor for their warmups against the Houston Rockets, wearing these shirts.

This just shows how much Wes means to them and the city with the outpouring of support along with the hashtag on social media #WithWes.
Matthews originally suffered the tear last Thursday in his team’s win over the Dallas Mavericks. Despite the injury’s projected minimum eight-month recovery timeline, the soon to be free agent iron man this year jokingly said he’ll be back 5 months. Unfortunately for Wes, it might not be that fast.
Whether or not his prediction comes true will be up in the air but hopefully Matthews comes back as the same solid player like he’s always been and that some team, hopefully the Blazers, sees this as a freak injury and he’ll get the money he deserves.
