Portland Avoids Sweep With 103-92 Win in Game 4
The Portland Trail Blazers rallied for a concerted effort to avoid a sweeping elimination and came out with a 103-92 win against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 on Monday night. Damian Lillard finished with a team-high 25 points for Portland.
In a series where the Trail Blazers had only led for 33 seconds in the first three games, the Spurs only led for 1:28 in Game 5. Portland maintained an aggressive attack with a visible sense of urgency. Without guard Mo Williams (groin) Portland had Will Barton emerge for 17 points and 6 rebounds off the bench, where the Spurs have had a daunting advantage in the series. A key adjustment for Portland was using Nicolas Batum on Tony Parker, which contributed to slowing down the Spurs’ incredible streak of first-half shooting and efficiency. Batum added 14 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists to Portland’s effort. Tony Parker led San Antonio with 14 points.
Game 5 of this series will be on Wednesday night at 9:30 PM EST on TNT.
