Given the events of the past few weeks, it may hard to believe, but Pop Smoke was tragically killed earlier this year. In the days, weeks and months since his passing, everyone from 50 Cent to Snoop Dogg have paid tribute to the late New York star. In honor of his memory, Pop Smoke’s team has put their effort towards releasing a posthumous Pop Smoke album. Originally, the project was set to hit streaming services on June 12, 2020. However, recent events may have pushed the album back just a few weeks.
“Given recent events, we have decided to delay the release of his album out of respect for the movement,” Steven Victor wrote.
With that being said, Pop Smoke fans will still have something to look forward to this weekend. Victor let fans know that a new song from the late artist would be released this Friday.
“‘Make It Rain’ will be released this Friday, June 12th. The album will be released on July 3rd,” Victor continued.
Anticipation continues to build for the posthumous project. Details such as track list and cover art are still up in the air. While we wait anxiously, check out the short teaser Steven Victor posted on Instagram late last night.
