A league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter, that Pittsburgh Steeler’s running back Le’Veon Bell faces a three game suspension and fined an additional game check.
Bell’s suspension stems from his August 20th arrest for DUI and possession of marijuana, alongside former teammate LeGarrette Blount.
Blount had his charges dismissed after completing 50 hours of community service. He was only suspended for the season opener. The Steelers added running back DeAngelo Williams to provide a stopgap until Bell’s return.
Bell is going to be hard to replace as his 1,361 rushing yards were second in the NFL and his 2,215 yards from scrimmage set a Steelers’ team record.
Bell is expected to appeal the suspension.
