
The Detroit Pistons are finalizing a deal with free agent Glenn Robinson lll, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports tweets.
The agreement is for two years and is worth $8.3 million, with the second season containing a team option, according to Charania. That means Detroit could opt to keep Robinson for a second year or allow him to enter free agency again next summer.

Robinson, a Michigan product, has held a long-standing interest in joining the Pistons. He confirmed Yahoo’s report of his decision on social media Sunday afternoon.

Robinson and his agents connected with Pistons officials on Sunday to finalize the agreement, according to Yahoo Sports.
Robinson, at just 24 years old, is an accomplished three-and-D player who can play both wing positions for the Pistons. Detroit is gearing toward its first full season with Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond sharing the frontcourt.
Robinson played just 23 games with the Pacers last season, averaging 4.1 points, 1.5 rebounds and 14.7 minutes per game. He connected on 41 percent of his attempts from 3-point range and won the NBA’s Slam Dunk Competition back in 2017. Robinson was drafted with the No. 40 pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2014.
