San Antonio Spurs have been allowing some of their frontcourt depth to leave this summer and with proper reason. They appear to be all in on chasing after LaMarcus Aldridge this summer and now Tim Duncan has announced that he will be returning to his team for his 19th season in the league.
With those two guys possibly in the fold for the Spurs frontcourt and Boris Diaw already under contract, guys like Tiago Splitter and Aron Baynes are expendable.
Splitter was recently traded and now Baynes is electing to leave San Antonio.

Hearing that the Aron Baynes deal with Detroit is along the lines of Brandan Wright's new pact with Memphis and could rise as high as $20M

Baynes is most known for getting dunked on by Blake Griffin in the first round of the 2015 NBA Playoffs. Besides that, his career hasn’t been filled with too many outstanding moments. He’s a solid big man and he can defend the rim pretty well.
